NCMB Opinions

A new Opinions database has been created for the Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. The purpose of this database is to make Middle District opinions more easily accessible.

The Index section has the items organized by subject. For example:

The user may go directly to any subject on the list by clicking on the name of that particular subject. The user may also scan all of the posted Opinions in subject order by simply scrolling through the entire Index page. Additional subject headings will be added to the index as items are added to the database.

The Search section lists the opinions in chronological order with the most recent opinion listed first. Subject headings are not included in this section, but a search engine is provided so that a user may scan through just the opinions that include certain key words or phrases. A few tips are provided to help make searches as productive as possible:

Search Tips: (Example Searches)

"Auto*" will find all documents with the word "Automatic, Automate" etc
"Automatic Stay" will find documents that contain the phrase "Automatic Stay"
"Automatic AND Stay" will find documents with both the word "Automatic" and "Stay"
"Automatic OR Stay" will find documents that have either word
